Help design future ice facilities at the Missoula County Fairgrounds
Wednesday, October 25
Home Arts Building 35 on the Missoula County Fairgrounds
Glacier Ice Rink is at capacity. To address this issue, a group of stakeholders has partnered together to determine how to best ensure affordable and accessible ice rink facilities for the current ice community as well as the next generation of ice users. This group includes the Missoula County Fairgrounds, the Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association (operator of Glacier Ice Rink), the Missoula Figure Skating Club, the Missoula Curling Club and the City of Missoula Parks and Recreation. The shared goal among the group is to grow from two sheets of ice to three sheets and 4-6 separate curling lanes at the Fairgrounds.
The group has selected 292 Design Group, an architectural firm based in Minneapolis, to analyze the existing Glacier Ice Rink facility and make recommendations on the best approach to modernize, replace and grow the facility. As part of the public process, they are inviting all members of the Missoula ice community to provide input on the facility design to ensure that the needs of all our users are considered. Please join us at this October 25 public session to help shape the design of a new ice facility!
Please see the attached invitation for more information.
